It's back. New York's (and New York's) definitive, updated list of the city's best doctors, specialty by specialty (and now including the suburbs -- Westchester and Rockland counties, Long Island, southern Connecticut, and northern New Jersey). These 1,500 physicians, carefully culled from more than 15,000 nominated by their colleagues, will provide you with the best care available anywhere. (But only -- as several of the best doctors point out in the introduction to this special issue -- if you take being a good patient as seriously as you do finding the right doctor. That means being communicative, coming informed, and asking questions.) In addition, we present our second annual Hall of Fame: ten doctors who practice with a difference, whether sewing up Leo's hurt knee, jetting off to refugee camps in Uganda, or connecting with troubled kids on the Upper West Side.
