MONTOYA

Right wing Jaromir
Jagr underwent
successful surgery
to repair a
dislocation of his
left shoulder on
Monday. The surgery
was performed by
team physicians Dr.
Andrew Feldman and
Dr. Tony Maddalo at
St. Vincent's
Hospital. The
rehabilitation
process for Jagr
will begin this week
and he is expected
to make a full
recovery in time for
the start of next
season.
Jagr, 34, skated in
82 games this
season, registering
54 goals and 69
assists for 123
points. He ranked
second in the NHL in
goals (54) and
points (123), and
tied for second in
power play goals
(24) and power play
points (52). He also
tied for third in
assists (69),
plus/minus (+34) and
game-winning goals
(nine).
Goaltender Al
Montoya also
underwent successful
surgery on Monday to
repair a dislocation
of his left
shoulder. Team
physicians Dr.
Feldman and Dr.
Maddalo performed
the surgery at St.
Vincent’s Hospital.
His rehabilitation
will begin
immediately and he
is expected to make
a full recovery in
time for the start
of next season.
Montoya, 21,
appeared in 40 games
with the Hartford
Wolf Pack (AHL) this
season, posting a
record of 23-9-1,
along with a 2.61
goals against
average and a .907
save percentage.
