About Dr. Maddalo
Anthony Maddalo, MD, is a skilled orthopedic surgeon providing high-quality orthopedic care to patients in Yonkers and Hawthorne, New York. Dr. Maddalo joined Hudson Valley Bone & Joint Surgeons after completing his orthopedic training at Lenox Hill Hospital in 1986. During his time at Lenox Hill, he had the opportunity to work with athletes at all levels of play. He was involved in the care of players from the New York Cosmos Soccer Club, the New York Rangers Hockey Club, and the New York Jets Football Club. During that time, he gained vast experience in the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries.
Since 1986, Dr. Maddalo has been an attending physician at Phelps Hospital Northwell HealthSM in Sleepy Hollow and has served in many capacities, including Director of Surgery, Vice President of the Medical Staff, and Member of the Board of Trustees. Moreover, Dr. Maddalo has served as the team physician for numerous high schools, colleges, and professional sports teams in the Metro New York and Hudson Valley regions.
For over three decades, Dr. Maddalo has worked with his partners to bring to Westchester new and innovative advancements in sports medicine such as arthroscopic rotator cuff repair and reconstruction of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament. His endeavors have made it possible for local athletes to obtain the same level of care as the professionals they follow.
Also, Dr. Maddalo has been named “Police Surgeon” for the Westchester County Police Department, the New York State Troopers, Sleepy Hollow Police Department, and other local law enforcement agencies. Seeing firsthand the dangers of their jobs, Dr. Maddalo is proud of his years of work treating many members of law enforcement in Westchester County and the surrounding area.
