After graduating from medical school with high honors, Dr. Ricanor completed his preliminary internal medicine training at Griffin Hospital/Yale Affiliate in Derby, CT. He then proceeded with his anesthesiology residency training at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. He excelled as a well-rounded anesthesiologist in Northern New Jersey and New York City, before later returning to Syracuse to complete his ACGME-accredited training in Pain Medicine. Following the completion of his fellowship training, he served as the associate director of anesthesia at Brook Plaza Surgical Center, where he helped foster the highest quality of care and service. During his tenure, he developed policies to promote a safer patient perioperative experience and regularly engaged in educating staff members at the surgical center and off-site satellite offices.

He utilizes ultrasound and fluoroscopic-guided techniques to treat a wide array of acute and chronic pain syndromes.
